With over a decade of experience in the employment industry, I founded AVS in 2024. The vision was simple: build a recruitment firm that operates as consultants first, with a family-first mindset, focused on delivering real value to the Freight Forwarding, Customs, Logistics and Supply Chain industries across North America. Over time, I have built relationships with incredible clients and candidates who trust us to represent them with transparency, honesty, and care.

Kerry Lawrence
I’ve spent over 25 years in customs and international trade as a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS), giving me the technical foundation to evaluate candidates beyond the résumé. My career has taken me through two Big Four accounting firms, a major Canadian importer, a national customs brokerage firm, and multiple duty recovery organizations—experiences that gave me a deep understanding of what exceptional talent in these fields truly looks like.
Over time, I found myself craving more meaningful, human connection. After COVID, that sense of closeness felt harder to find, and I realized how much I valued the relationships behind the work. That’s what led me into recruiting. Helping someone step into a role that can change their life—and helping companies find the right people to strengthen their teams—has become the most rewarding part of my career.
Today, I help organizations across Canada and the U.S. hire confidently for customs, indirect tax, logistics, and supply chain roles. I bring technical fluency and clarity using a people‑first approach to every search, while ensuring both clients as well as candidates feel supported and understood.
